How We Come About...

Following President Xi Jinping's visit to the Middle East at the end of 2022, Mr. John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, led a high-level delegation to the region in early 2023. This visit resulted in the successful signing of 13 cooperation memorandums and agreements, igniting a wave of business collaboration between Hong Kong and the Middle East. In alignment with the national policy encouraging SMEs to expand into the Middle East and attract investors to Hong Kong, Dr. Aaron Shum established the Hong Kong-Middle East Business Chamber.

Since its inception, over 360 companies and business associations from various industries have joined the Chamber, which has also garnered strong support from the business community and government departments across different commercial sectors.

The mission of the association is to actively disseminate the latest information from both regions through its business network, provide business matching services for its members, facilitate business exchanges between the two regions, and create new development opportunities for the Hong Kong business community.

I have over 40 years of experience living and doing business in the Middle East, witnessing its rapid growth and transformation. Given the increasing economic exchanges between Hong Kong and the Middle East, I believe this region is vital for Hong Kong's future. In recent years, President Xi Jinping visited the Middle East, and Mr. John Lee, the Chief Executive of Hong Kong, led a business delegation to explore opportunities. Now is the ideal time to share my knowledgem and collaborate with like-minded professionals to tap into new markets.I look forward to establish a platform to foster connections and mutual benefits between enterprises in both regions. This platform could serve as an investment channel for the Greater Bay Area and the Belt and Road Initiative, supporting local business development.
